Being a publisher, I have now many years of experience on the internet and I have really understood the need to protect my computer on the internet. Since some four years me and four of my colleagues have been testing a great many different antivirus programs on five company computers and now want to share our results with others. Consequently you have to protect your computer from a great many hazards out there on the internet.
I have in other articles reported on authors and poets I encountered in my publishing activities, for whom virus infection has destroyed sometimes several years of writing. One author lost a whole novel manuscript he stored on his PC with no backup and a poet lost some fifty of his recently written poems, both due to virus attacks. Hence, I understand that a great many computer users are victims of these and similar disasters on the internet. Therefore the necessity to protect your PC is huge. During our almost four years of testing we found that several antivirus programs, which first appeared to be reliable, after a while not to be able to withstand various virus attacks. Therefore it is very important to really assess the various programs from the beginning.
Since Windows 7 was introduced we have also been testing that program with five antivirus programs on the market and have now found out that the three top programs from our previous 5-years test also performed best with Window 7 and were fully compatible and easily updated as before also in Windows 7 software surroundings.
